VISIT TO THE OLDTOWN OF VALENCIA SEPTEMBER 13, 2008
Most of Valencia's historical monuments dating from Valencia's golden years,
13th-15th C. are located in today's Old Town. We're going to take stroll
through the city's remaining narrow streets, small squares and become
acquainted with today's historical downtown area:
Exteriors: Plaza de la Virgen, the Cathedral, the Basilica, Lonja, Central
Market.
Interiors: l'Almoina Museum, Baños del Almirante.
Minimum 10, máximum 30 people.

MUVIM SEPTEMBER 19, 2008
The MUVIM has a permanent exhibition " The Adventure of Knowledge". This is a sight and sound carrousel trip through history that is both entertaining and informative. It is a " journey through a time tunnel" that traces the world through history in the science, literature, philosophy , war and peace up to the present day.
Minimum 10, máximum 38 people.

OCEANOGRAPHIC PARK OCTOBER 10, 2008
The Oceangraphic Park invites us to get to know the most representative flora and fauna in the world, and immersion to the depths of all the oceans of the world, from the Arctic Ocean to the Antarctic, passing through the temperate and tropical latitudes of the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Indian Oceans.

Learn the language of fans and paint your own fan!

CIUDAD FALLERA NOVEMBER 7, 2008
We’ll visit the area of the city, where artists work year round making figures for “Las Fallas”, the most popular festival in Valencia. We’ll visit the museum where we’ll see “ninots indultats”, figures that have been saved from the flames. We’ll also see workshops that make figures for wax museums, Paris Disney, and for the New Orleans Mardi Gras!
PRICE: 2,30 € for museum admission. Transportation not included (Bonobus valid).

LA ALBUFERA NOVEMBER 14, 2008
The Albufera Natural Park is one of the most representative and interesting
areas within the Comunidad Valenciana, acclaiming national and international
fame. The Albufera, located 15 km. south of Valencia, is the largest lake on
the Iberian Peninsula, and is a good example of the interaction of man and
nature in creating interesting scenery and valuable forms of flora and
fauna. The visit includes a boat ride around part of the lake to the Gola de
Puchol, and take a short hike around the immediate area to take in this
charming nature spot.
PRICE: 7,50 € for the boat. Transportation not included (Bonobus no valid), PRICE transportation: 2,50 €.

LLADRO FACTORY / MUSEUM DECEMBER 5, 2008
We will visit the “City of Porcelain” with its’ handcrafted porcelain figurines of the famous company Lladro. If you’re interested in buying you can do so after the tour at the shop located on the grounds. Also you can buy seconds at a shop nearby.
The cost of this trip will be the public transportation roundtrip (bonobus valid).
Minimum 10, máximum 50 people.

END OF TERM BANQUET DECEMBER 17, 2008
This activity is open only to Program students, professors and staff.
There is no charge, but IN ORDER TO ATTEND YOU MUST SIGN UP on the numbered sheets attached to the signs on the bulletin boards, before 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 10th. Sorry, but we cannot accept reservations after that time.
Lunch will be either “paella de pollo” or “paella de verduras”. Please sign up at the bulletin board for one preference or the other. (Plan on sticking with this preference on the day of the banquet.)
