PhD in English philology from the Universitat de València, he also holds an M.A. in comparative literature from the University of Iowa (USA). He has taught in English as well as Spanish at Middlebury College (USA), Semester at Sea, Florida State University (Valencia), Caxton College (Valencia), University of  Virginia (Charlottesville), and the University of Iowa (USA)
